Nathan Smith Standing Strong

Hi I’m Nathan and I’d like to share with you a little bit about me.

I grew up in Leicester, England… A happy healthy kid, with a supportive family, and great friends. I was fascinated by technology and knew I was going to study computer science from a young age….

I was surprised to find myself in a place that I considered “rock bottom”

I had failed at my relationship, I drank too much, and was smoking cigarettes. I was 6 foot tall and weighed 120lbs. Needless to say I was “in bad shape”..

Luckily, a friend saw that I was in need of help and said something to me that would change the trajectory of my life: He told me “your worth more than the way you are living”

So I decided to join the gym, where I started to make real progress on my physical health, and my body. In turn I got a new job, a new relationship, and even promotion to a board level IT Director role.

However, I realized that this was all just superficial, merely on the physical. Inside I realized something was missing.

I had immersed myself in my job and in my training but inside I still was judging my value by how much money I made, if I got the next promotion, and who I was in relationship with.

I was constantly looking for validation from others and telling myself “I couldn’t be happy until” … until I made more money, until I got that new promotion, until I was in a better relationship, or “I’ll be happy when I’m strong enough to deal with my problems….

…. It was a never ending cycle.

This feeling of helplessness had me stuck in the same old patterns of using substances, smoking cigarettes, drinking excessively, and finding myself physically and emotionally unavailable in my relationships.

I knew something had to change so I decided to take a risk – a “leap of faith” if you will – so a friend and I journeyed to California. Some pretty remarkable thing happened there… I met an inspiring woman, and she told me that she was an executive coach..

I didn’t know what an executive coach was…. But through our relationship she started me on a path of what I could only call “self discovery” or “spiritual awakening” ….if you will.

Along the way I met many amazing teachers. People who influenced my life and opened me up to a world of possibilities. I learnt many new skills, techniques, and technologies…

it really changed how I viewed the world.

Through that learning  I turned my life around. I went to seminars, I got myself my own personal coach, corrected some old patterns, and that eventually led me to a certificated program in spiritual psychology.

I still deal with challenges that come up in my life… and old patterns still emerge… but I realize that it isn’t about quick fixes and band aids.. True healing is about self forgiveness, honesty, and creating new patterns and beliefs that move us forward.

I realize that it doesn’t matter what happened, we don’t have to keep living under it. Every moment is a fresh new opportunity and ultimately THE PAST DOES NOT EQUAL THE FUTURE – and WE ARE NOT OUR STORY.

I think that everyone could benefit from a coach at some-point in their lives to support them in reaching their goals, and motivate them to take action in creating a more successful and fulfilling life.

From coaching I have become a happier, healthier, more successful person, and now through my coaching practice I want to return the favor.

As a professional coach my intention is to assist people in achieving goals, overcoming mental blocks, and helping people answer three main questions: Who am I? What is my purpose? And how can I make a more meaningful contribution on the planet?

Maybe there’s an area of your life such as business, health, relationships that you want to improve.

I’m here to show you it’s possible.

If you would like to explore let’s start a conversation.
